But there is nothing specifically wrong with it, it's just about choice & how you plan and carry out offensives, whether you need speed over a compromise of strength & speed or such. I actually had the same idea and will likely eventually try it, probably playing as the US as they have more leeway with their production (so no obligation to rush armored divisions early on, so there's time to develop into medium tanks, although you can still convert light tank divisions into medium tank divisions, but it comes with an experience loss). Most strategies can only be tested through trial and error. I would say go for it and report back to us how it went. Light tanks have the massive advantage of speed which helps with securing vital positions during a breakthrough and such, but there is nothing wrong with medium tanks as they are a compromise between strength and breakthrough speed. It's a completely fine strategy, it's up to you whether you go with it or not.
